天外天潮州鱼头炉 (Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat Restaurant)

Went to this place for dinner today. It is located at 1383 Serangoon Road... er... somewhere near Boon Keng MRT Station.
It looks like a rundown coffeshop but it was already quite crowded at 5.30pm. Since it was our first time there, we din quite know what and how to order. We looked ard at what others were eating, they looked pretty standard - steamboat, sambal kangkong, fried chicken, hong shao beancurd or prawn date.

Here's our dishes.

Very delicious. The steamboat is charcoal-cooked. No fishy taste and there is some sweetness in the soup. Besides the fish, there is cabbage, lettuce and yam. The fish is very fresh and cooked till just right.

We also order a sambal kangkong. It could have been spicer....

By the time our fried chicken came, we have already finished our steamboat and veg. So, we tapau-ed it back... :(
Overall, the food is good but service is quite slow. We waited for abt 30 mins for our 1st dish to be served.
Total damage : $35 for 2 persons.
