[Singapore Bistro] Pezzo Pizza welcomes the GODZILLA Pizza and "Buy 2 Get 2 Free" Promotion
The first-ever GODZILLA pizza, specially created in conjunction with the movie is coming to Pezzo Pizza for a limited time from 11 April to 31 May 2014!
The GODZILLA pizza is thicker than the regular Pezzo pizza as it houses 30% more ingredients including beef balls, pepperoni, salami, beef sausages and turkey ham. Even though it has more ingredients, the price remains the same at $4.90 per slice!
My current personal favourite is Very Veggie. As the name already imply, this pizza contains lots of veggies including onions, mushrooms, green peppers, sweet pineapples and sliced tomatoes. Very fibre-licious and each slice is huge (for me)! Must try!
If you prefer something that spices up your taste bud, try this Hot Chick! The rather spicy shredded chicken with its special chilli sauce will satisfy your insatiable appetite.
Hawaiian pizza has always been a favourite with Singaporeans. If you're like one of us, do check out the Holy Hawaiian that's filled with turkey ham, bacon, sweet pineapples topped with mozzarella cheese!
With any pizza purchased, you can get a beverage combo by adding $2 to get an Italian soda or $1 to get a soft drink or mineral water. Pezzo Pizza is available at 15 kiosks at Sentosa (HQ Office), The Arcade, Bedok Mall, Bugis Junction, Esplanade MRT Station, Ion Food Hall, Junction 8, JEM, Lot One Shopping Mall, Lucky Plaza, Marine Parade, Rivervale Mall, The Star Vista, Thomson Plaza, Tiong Bahru Plaza and Woodlands MRT Station.

Taiwanese Confectionery - Sweet Musings at Star Vista
If you have been to Taiwan and tried the freshly made 太阳饼 (Sun Cake), the slightly moist flaky skin with a strong milky taste filled with malt is sure to linger in your mind for a while. Other than the sun cake, another popular confectionery would be the 凤梨酥 (pineapple cake) which are typically in square or rectangular shape.
The sunshine has finally been brought into Singapore by Sweet Musings, a new brand name and shop in Singapore. They are true to their commitment in bringing the Taiwanese flavour here. The owner, the chef and the ingredients are from Taiwan. The owner had a shop in Taichung before she decided to bring it over here.
The cakes are freshly made and packed at the store. Lots of samplings are available for the fortune bell cake (福钟烧), sun cake, pineapple cake, earl grey egg roll, yam cake (芋泥酥), nougat except for the chilled mochi and panna cotta which comes in 4 flavours.
Prices range from $1 to $3.50. Not exactly cheap but still affordable and you don't have to travel to Taiwan even if you have some cravings for these Taiwanese sweets.

Korean Fried Chicken - Nene Chicken at Star Vista [네네치킨]
Are you a fan of fried chicken? Joining franchises like BBQ Chicken from Korea, a new kid has landed into the sunny island of Singapore. That's really good news because Nene Chicken adopts a fast food concept which means it is more affordable.
My friend was a little shy to pronounce "Nene" and particularly the dish Nene Pop since it sounded like the local way of saying boobs. But really, there is nothing naughty about it since this is a Korean chain. Nene (네네) means Yes Yes in Korean ;)
Though the fast food restaurant is a little cram, I prefered to eat the chicken when it is freshly served. The waiting time was slightly long, maybe 10 mins, since the chicken is only fried upon ordered. I ordered the Bulgogi Fried Chicken, Nenebap and Nenepop. My favourite amongst these 3 is the Bulgogi flavoured fried chicken. The chicken is tender, juicy and marinated just right. Nenebap is a DIY mixed rice where you mix the salad vege, chicken with rice. Nenepop is a little fun. The popcorn-size fried chicken is placed in a small bowl on top of the soft drink. This is convenient as a quick take away meal.
To experience the real Korean style of eating fried chicken, a small thrash bin is placed on each table for you to throw away the chicken bones. It would have been perfect if you could have the fried chicken with beer. The Koreans call it Chi-maek (치맥) which means chicken and beer. This culture is so strong that there is an annual festival in the country.
Nene Chicken currently has delivery service but limited to selected areas in the West. So in the meantime, since there is only 1 store, you have got to head down to Star Vista is you want to get your hands on the Nene ;p

Chicken Korma @ Rocky Master (Biopolis)
A variation of South Indian chicken curry, the Chicken Korma taste almost similar as the usual chicken curry that you find at Indian restaurants. The main difference is that, there isn't any potato in the curry, only chicken! This recipe isn't spicy, spice taste is also pretty mild. Those who aren't into spicy food but enjoys the taste of curry can try this.
The Chicken Korma was supposed to come with Briyani rice, but Rocky Master ran out of the rice. They replaced it with pita bread, which was a good combination. Ways to eat with pita bread? You could either dip the bread into the gravy or wrap the chicken pieces in the pita bread opening!
If you're a small eater, this dish can be shared by 2 persons. Certainly value for money.
Address: 8 Biomedical Grove #01-11-13/15-16 Neuros S138665
Getting there: From Buona Vista Station, walk over to Ministry of Education (MOE) building. From the side of the MOE building, walk up Biopolis Way. At the 3-way junction, walk in the direction of Biopolis Drive and head towards Neuros Building.

The Lawn Grill and Salad Cafe
A new cafe for the "green-lovers". The concept of this cafe is pretty interesting. Here's how it goes:
1. Choose your preferred serving size
2. Choose your preferred grill (I chose Pacific Dory with fresh fruit rub and herbs)
3. Choose your preferred greens, toppings and dressing (I chose baby potatoes, cashew nuts, eggs, and maple peanut dressing).
Tada! 2 pieces of herbed dory fillet. Perhaps I am not used to the taste of herbs, it tasted a little jerlat after a while. Other than that, the portion is already quite decent (ie. enough for me) with the potatoes, eggs and cashew nuts)
Kitchen and front counter at The Lawn. It is a nice cosy cafe, except that seats may be limited during the lunch rush hour.

Rocky Master (Biopolis)
What's for lunch? Rocky Master is one of those sandwich joints. The gourmet iced chocolate is something to shout about. If you have not tried it, I strongly recommend that you give it a try. It is very different from other iced chocolate from other cafes including starbucks, CBTL.
Since it was lunch, I decided to try their mushroom soup and curry potty pie. The mushroom soup was surprising thick and filled with small bits of minced mushroom. Good value. However, the potty pie was obviously a frozen pie, heated up in microwave oven. Forget about ordering the pie. It was a disappointment =(
