Finally bought and tried the Goodwood Homemade Durian Ice-cream. The ice-cream was pretty pulpy (and therefore not the smoothy type) and not too sweet. However, it wasn't as creamy as I would like it to be. My personal preference has always been towards creamier ice cream. As there isn't any preservatives added to the ice-cream, it must be consumed within a week!
As with the rest of the durian pastries from Goodwood, the price is always of concern. At $18 a tub (after adding the GST), it isn't as affordable and probably one of the most expensive ice-cream in town.
Available at the Goodwood Park Hotel Deli (22 Scotts Road, Singapore 228221). Tel: 6730 1786. The deli is opened from 9am to 9pm.
Getting there: Take the MRT to Orchard Station. Use the underpass and go towards TANGS (departmental store). You will pass by an exit with an escalator to the street level on the right-hand side. Do not exit and just keep walking until you reach the underground level entrance to TANGS. Take the escalator that is opposite the entrance to get to street level. At the street level, keep right and walk along Scotts Road. Pass by Scotts Square and Far East Plaza and keep walking until you reach Goodwood Park Hotel which is on your right side.

Ice Edge II Cafe at Upper Thomson Road [Closed]
Craving for some ice-cream in the hot Singapore weather? Ice Edge Café II does serve some interesting flavours such as Salted Egg... yes, that was something new to me. Perhaps it appeals more to those with acquired taste. For me, I would prefer to keep to the more traditional flavours such as Mao Shan Wang Durian or Rum and Raisin.
Besides waffles, ice cream and cakes, the café also serve western food such as the Fish and Chips you see in the picture below. The portion looks a little small because I had order the kid's size portion, saving my tummy for the ice cream.
While the food quality has nothing to be complained about, I can't say the same for the waiting time. The café seems to be short-handed, hence be prepared to wait.... my friends and I waited for almost an hour for the food. Yah... so you might want to check the waiting time before placing your order. There are lots of other food options if time is not on your side. =)
Address: 203 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 574344
Telephone No : 6255 4655
Updated on 16 Sep 2013: The café is closed due to expansion of Kovan branch and shortage of manpower.

Dessert Indulgence at Brunetti (Tanglin Mall)
The dessert was surprising crowded on a working weekday with customers who are students, business executives and tourist. Tanglin Mall isn't a very convenient location, being quite a distance from the MRT station, yet this manages to draw an impressive crowd.
I suppose the reason behind this might be the wide range of beverages. Besides the usual coffee and tea, beer is also available from this dessert bar. But, I think the biggest draw is the range of desserts that look so irresistable. Pretty-looking cakes, cute pastries, drooling chocolates/pralines, gelato that comes in usual (chocolate, tiramisu, macha) and un-usual (hazelnut, caramel) flavours. The experience seems incomplete, if you walk out of the dessert bar without a taste of their gelato. But if you already had more than you should, perhaps just ask for some sampling and hopefully, that satisfied your curiosity and craving about the gelato.

Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream (MOS Burger)
Latest dessert added to MOS Burger's menu. Besides green tea, there is also mango and chocolate flavour. The green tea flavour ice cream comes with red bean. Personally, I've like it to be a little milkier. But generally, the ice cream isn't too bad. $2.95 per cup (ala carte) or get 20c off if purchased with a meal.

Paddle Pop Ice Cream
These days, people are spoilt for high-end ice cream choices - Ben & Jerry's, Hagen Daaz, Swensen's etc... I can't even remember when was the last time I had a Paddle Pop Ice Cream. When I was young, one of my fav was the Paddle Pop Rainbow stick.
The old-school cup version sure brought back memories of those good-old-days. 60c for this tiny cup. At this instance, you might think that 60c is a little too much for this little cup which comes with dual flavour - vanilla and chocolate. But think again - it costs $3 for a small hagen daaz cup, 5x the price of paddle pop!!

Swensen's - Durian Supreme Mooncake
I've always been a faithful follower of Marriott's durian mooncake but this year, I've decided to venture out.
I've decided to try a new adventure - durian ice cream mooncake from Swensen's.
The durian ice cream was good - thick durian taste. But the skin is rather thick. Probably because, to prevent the skin from breaking and ice cream leaking out. Not only was it thick, it was also a bit overly sweet.
Other flavours worth a try includes hazelnut and sticky chewy chocolate. Each box of 4 costs $25.90. There is 15% discount for selected credit cards.

Haato Ice Cream at Liang Court
Looks like Haato is my most visited ice cream parlour. This time, I was at the Liang Court outlet.
I had a double scoop (green tea and mocha coffee flavours) on a waffle. The green tea ice cream is made from matcha powder, the taste is really authentic. As for the mocha coffee flavour, I would say, it is just average.
Just read that Ridgewood Close outlet serves milkshake now. And it is the only outlet that serves milkshake! Do I consider myself lucky that I can go to RWC on weekday lunch or am I preparing to pound on some more weight?? Argh...dilemma...

Marvelous Cream (City Link)
Marvelous Cream
#B1-04, City Link Mall,
One Raffles Link, Singapore 039393
TEL: 6238 1683
Originates from Japan, this is its first franchaise outlet in Singapore, located at the end of City Link near the exit to Suntec City. Its 2nd outlet is at ION Orchard (B4-81/82/83).
With its pretty and attractive facade, it is difficult to miss the shop.
What's interesting is that, you get to see the ice cream chefs doing up your ice, mixing your choice of premium ice-cream with toppings and whipped cream on a ice marble top. There are 28 ready creations available or you can "customise" your own creation.
The toppings are irresistable... check out the cookies, sponge cake cubes, fruits, macaron etc.
You can an option to have your ice-cream served in cup or waffle cup or waffle cone or chocolate waffle cone. I chose to have mine in a waffle cone. Ta-da!
The ice-cream isn't too sweet and not as creamy as it looks. It melts quickly under Singapore's warm climate. At $6.90, it is a little expensive for an ice cream cone, but I think I will be back to try out some of the other creations when my craving comes.
Other than ice-creams, dessert lovers can also check out other pretty cakes in the shop.

Pasta de Waraku (Square 2)
This was my 1st visit at Pasta de Waraku @ Square 2... the restaurant entrance isn't very prominently located in the building though the restaurant itself is just next to a taxi stand. The entrance is located next to The Face Shop and not at the taxi stand side.
I decided to go for a light meal and order the Japanese-Style Clam Chower ($8.80). Thou V and J found the soup to be quite diluted, it was just right for me. However, what was very misleading was the BIG soup bowl, that gave us am impression that the serving portion was generous.

Total damage - approx $25.

Haato - Ridgewood Close
Was at Haato again, this time for a farewell lunch. Actually I was in the mood for snacks and ice-cream... er... gelato.
That's my milk-flavour gelato. Everyone gave me that usual unusual stare..."What? Milk?" Frankly, it is really quite yummy. And it is the 1st time I come across Milk-flavour gelato. It went well with the waffle.

And here's "snacks" - yasai croquette (vegetable croquette). The dip for the croquette is quite food and it looked like it is made up of spicy mayo. In fact, I probably would not be able to finish up all 4 pieces of croquette if not for the dip.

Swensen's Topless Five
Who can resist ice creams that are so tasty? I love Swensen's ice-cream, especially those creamy flavours such as Vanilla, Butterscotch, Rum & Raisin.
I just realised that it is much more worthwhile to order a topless 5 cos it is 5 scoops for $7.50, unlike if you get a single scoop for $3.60.
But to be fair, topless 5 scoops are smaller but it does not matter to me cos I just want variety!!

The Daily Scoop
After Bather's, I hopped over to The Daily Scoop Ice Cream Cafe, which was just a few steps away from Bather's.
Address : 41 Sunset Way, #01-04 Clementi Arcade, Singapore 597071
Tel: (+65) 6463 3365
After a few sampling on strawberry and chilli choc flavours, we decided on a double scoop in the choco-coated cone with butterscotch pecan and cookie monster flavour.
Love the butterscotch pecan but Kookie Monster was a lil disappointing as we could not taste the choco - maybe the butterscotch had overpowered my tastebuds.
Actually I would love to get the chilli choc flavour the next time. It is quite cool, there is a spicy after taste :)
Total damage : $5.50 for a double scoop with choco-coated cone.

Haato - Follow Your Heart [Ridgewood Close]
My colleague brought me to this place - Haato @ Ridgewood Close. It is a japanese gelato place with other outlets at Liang Court, Serangoon Gardens and Wheelock. At Ridgewood, japanese hot food such as curry rice and chicken katsu don are served. Since that was my first time there, I din know what flavour to pick - so I chose my fav rum & raisin. Not bad :)
(p/s: I went there again today - had Oyako don and a waffle with 2 big scoops of Black Sesame and Chocolate gelato. The waffle is indeed quite good, it has a unique fragrance, maybe it is the butter. It is still crispy when hot and not too hard - I like it. I like both ice cream flavours as well. Anyway, you can ask to sample ice cream flavours before ordering it.)
