[Singapore Bistro] Pezzo Pizza welcomes the GODZILLA Pizza and "Buy 2 Get 2 Free" Promotion

The first-ever GODZILLA pizza, specially created in conjunction with the movie is coming to Pezzo Pizza for a limited time from 11 April to 31 May 2014!

The GODZILLA pizza is thicker than the regular Pezzo pizza as it houses 30% more ingredients including beef balls, pepperoni, salami, beef sausages and turkey ham.  Even though it has more ingredients, the price remains the same at $4.90 per slice!

My current personal favourite is Very Veggie.  As the name already imply, this pizza contains lots of veggies including onions, mushrooms, green peppers, sweet pineapples and sliced tomatoes.  Very fibre-licious and each slice is huge (for me)!  Must try!

If you prefer something that spices up your taste bud, try this Hot Chick!  The rather spicy shredded chicken with its special chilli sauce will satisfy your insatiable appetite.

Hawaiian pizza has always been a favourite with Singaporeans.  If you're like one of us, do check out the Holy Hawaiian that's filled with turkey ham, bacon, sweet pineapples topped with mozzarella cheese!

With any pizza purchased, you can get a beverage combo by adding $2 to get an Italian soda or $1 to get a soft drink or mineral water.  Pezzo Pizza is available at 15 kiosks at Sentosa (HQ Office), The Arcade, Bedok Mall, Bugis Junction, Esplanade MRT Station, Ion Food Hall, Junction 8, JEM, Lot One Shopping Mall, Lucky Plaza, Marine Parade, Rivervale Mall, The Star Vista, Thomson Plaza, Tiong Bahru Plaza and Woodlands MRT Station.

[Singapore Restaurant] Korean Food: Jang Shou Korean BBQ

It has been more than 5 years since I last stepped into Jang Shou Korean BBQ.  Jang Shou also means longevity.  The restaurant is conveniently located downtown, at The Esplande.  For this visit, I tried 2 BBQ and a soup dish.

Jang Shou restaurant is generous with their side dishes.  A total of 9 dishes are served, in addition to the onion soup as appetiser.

I always hesitate trying this dishes as I was afraid that the onion taste will be too over-powering.  But thankfully, the onion soup was quite refreshing.  It tasted sweet and a little sourish.  The restaurant serves set meal only during lunch.  Each set meal costs $23 and comprises 1 grilled meat dish (choice of beef, pork and chicken) and 1 stew dish (choice of soybean paste stew, spicy soft tofu stew, buckwheat noodles in cold broth and dry buckwheat noodles in spicy sauce).  For such a combination, I personally think that it is pretty worthwhile.

But for this lunch, I decided to order BBQ meat instead of the set meal.  For some reason, the restaurant uses charcoal for BBQ only during dinner.  And during lunch, it is cooked over gas.  The first BBQ meat I ordered was the Jang Shou Galbi, marinated pork ribs in olive and honey.  There are 3 BBQ pork choices.  Besides pork ribs, they also serve olive-wine marinated pork belly and hot-pepper marinated pork belly.

The second BBQ meat that I had was Jang Shou Dak Galbi, grilled spicy chicken.  In fact, the choice of BBQ chicken is only limited to the spicy flavour.

While the spicy chicken looks more appetising than the pork ribs, I like the pork ribs more than the spicy chicken.

The soybean paste stew was average.  I like it more when the beanpaste taste is stronger.  But I guess the restaurant would have to cater to the majority's preference.

Overall, the dishes are decent but variety is limited for non-beef diners.   But I like the variety of side dishes served.  There are very few restaurants that provides such elaborate side dishes.

Note: WAH! Korea Club members enjoy 5% discount on regular food items from Monday to Thursday, excluding set meals.

[Korean Food] Bibigo goes to Suntec City

It is Chuseok on Thursday!  Celebration starts ahead of Chuseok as Bibigo celebrates the opening of it's 4th Singapore outlet at Suntec City!  The menu is complete with selection of traditional dishes including soup, hot stone dishes, pancakes rice, noodles etc; as well as modern and fusion dishes such as salads, desserts and drinks.  These are the dishes which I have tried and my verdict is ~ ~ 2 thumbs up!

Spicy Soft Tofu Stew with Seafood.  Served in a sizzling-hot hotstone bowl, the soup was really appetizing and the spiciness level was just right.  While the tofu was firm and may not be as soft as you expected, it goes not break away easily.

The Hot-Stone Chicken was yummy too.  The char-grilled chicken was well-marinated and the chicken thigh meat was tender and juicy.  The balance  of sweet and savoury taste was almost perfect.

Courgette pancake is exclusive to the Suntec outlet.  It is a Korean-style pancake with courgette (also known as zucchini, it is a type of vegetable which is related to the pumpkin family), sweet potato, butternut squash, topped with rocket salad.  The pancake was really fragrant and slightly crispy.  This is suitable for non-meat eater.

The characteristics of Bibigo pancake is that there is much more vegetable than the batter.  In this seafood pancake, scallion is used as the main ingredient topped with shrimps and squids.  This way, the dish is healthier since vegetables contain fibre!

Meals aren't complete without desserts.  The glazed sweet potato is a unique dish.  The fried sweet potato is coated with a layer of Korean grain syrup.  Even though the sweet potato has been fried, the dish managed to maintain the root vegetable's moisture.  The dish comes with glazed walnut and rice crispy too.  This dish is also suitable for non-meat eater.

If you like something cold, go for the Rosi Nero ice cream, which is made of black rice.  The ice cream is light, refreshing and not too sweet.

The Bibigo salad is another new addition to it's menu.  Served with apple sauce, this is a perfect dish for a light meal comprising of greens, chicken breast meat, crispy rice and tomatoes.

At least 5 dishes are added to Bibigo's existing menu and exclusive to the Suntec City outlet to mark the celebration of a major milestone for the global brand.  The launch of this latest outlet puts Singapore on the map as 1 of the 2 leading regions for Bibigo in the world!

The menu addition features some traditional favourites from Korea such as Hot Stone Galbi (Beef), Courgette Pancake (as featured above), BBQ Spicy Chicken, Bibigo Salad (as featured above), Oriental Chopped Salad and Grilled Ssamjang Pork.  So, be sure to check out Bibigo at Suntec City!

Telephone: 6423-1881

Space @ My Humble House is a restaurant under the Tung Lok Group. Atas restaurant @ atas location with atas price. But I should also qualify that the food quality is also atas.

I ordered the Rice Noodle with Fish Fillet when I was there for dinner one evening ($12). This is one of the house specialities alonside Mama Leong Chicken Rice, Claypot Rice in Consomme, Rack of Lamb 'Bak Kut Teh', Fried Raddish Cake, Seafood Laksa and Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Hor Fun.

The rice noodle are those thick noodles commonly used in laksa dishes. The fish soup is especially tasty while the fish slices were a little tough.

The other house specialities from Space @ My Humble House.

A cosy restaurant for a quiet dinner and if you'd like to pamper yourself with yummy food.
