[Singapore Cafe] Vegetarian Chocolate Truffle Logcake from Metta Cafe

Thinking what to get for the year-end gathering?  Consider this.  I bought this for a recent gathering and most people couldn't believe that this vegetarian (eggless) chocolate truffle logcake tasted as good as any other chocolate logcakes.  Best of all, the price wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket.  500g at $30 and 1kg at $42.

Contact mettacafe@metta.org.sg to entire or drop by the café located at 32 Simei Street 1.

Have a great holiday!

Delicious Brownies and Cookies from BakeryHearts

If you haven't heard of BakeryHearts yet, it is a humble social enterprise under Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centres, with a social mission of helping families.  The bakers may not be top patisseries but hey, their confectionery is not bad.  My personal favourite is their sugared butter cookie.

For the coming festive season, why not give their cookies and cakes a try?

Sugared Butter Cookies

Semolina Lemon Cake

Brownies

 Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you are already on a lookout for Chinese New Year festive goodies, you may wish to check out my earlier post on their pineapple tarts.

Comes in a pretty pink box, the cookies are too pretty to be eaten.  Taste wise, it tastes like any regular cookies, a taste that you may forget the next day.  What stays in your memory would only the pretty shapes and decorations on the cookies :)

Telephone (65) 6733-8893 Facsimile (65) 6733-8896
Opening Hours
Mondays to Sundays : 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Thanks to the UOB Christmas 2011 Charge and Redeem programme, I managed to qualify myself for this promotion.  Collected this cake from the Paragon (B1) branch.

The outer layer is a thick chocolate mousse.  Inside the cake, there is a layer of chestnut cream and sponge cake.  Between these 2 layers, it is filled with lychee mousse and pieces of fresh lychee!  The chocolate mousse is extremely smooth.  You may even taste a tint of bitterness because it uses dark chocolate for its mousse.
